Zamzar! It's Heaven on the Internet.
Zamzar is one of my favorite applications I have learned of so far. For those people who are not computer-savvy and get confused by hundreds of suffixes representing certain file types, why and where you cannot read the specific files, and most of all do not know how to convert the files into readable files, Zamzar is a highly effective tool. Very user-friendly and simple, Zamzar allows a user to copy the URL or upload the desired file to the Zamzar website, then choose which file he or she would like to convert to. The biggest “pro” of this service is how user-friendly it is, and it can turn a dire situation into a resolved one. I also like many songs on Youtube that I can now, using Zamzar, listen to on my ipod. Also, I can convert downloads for the Sims 3 and be able to use the downloaded item in the game. A “con” of Zamzar is that you still have to know what file will work with your media. A user does not require an account, however attaining one will grant a faster conversion process as well as a larger file capacity.

+ Most useful for people uneducated in the workings of computers.
- People may get interested in pirating material.
+ Makes opening unreadable files easy.
- Quality of a URL or file is not guaranteed.
+ School projects on a computer database are more easily shared, or can be edited by switching the file format.
